Sandra Batista, designer and goldsmith of Jóias Raras do Brasil, giving sequence to a secular tradition, revive, with a new design, the beauty of Coconut and Gold jewel.

In the seventeenth century, had began the creation of this baroque jewel. The precursors of this traditional jewelry, was the portuguese artists, like Antônio de Souza Neves and João Alves do Couto, the most olden. Sandra Batista preserve the original style and creat again, with art and refinement, Coconut and Gold details. The Coconut and Gold jewel had origin by the melt from the art of work the coconut by the slaves with the portuguese goldsmith knowledge.

Just a historical register: a Mozambique Gold String, with coconut loop decorated with a coconut medal, whose delicate handiwork represents a flower in each face, with a gold stone in the middle. This jewel was sold by the merchant Alexandre Xandó to the emperor Dom Pedro Second.

Coconuto and Gold is a brazilian original jewel. After years of work and research we produced unique pieces, where the coconut and gold change in nature elements, like flowers, butterflys and other animals. They combine with thenselves, taking a shape of beautiful necklace, bracelet, ankle bracelet, earring, ring and pendant adorned with precious stones. One jewel will never be similar with another, because our Coconut and Gold and Filigrane work is the same that an artisan work, that can´t be produced in series. So, this is a rare jewel that, after finished, acquire one history and reveal the caress by who created and engraved they, part by part, without fundry, in a total manual process, with quality control and the guaranty – “Jóias Raras do Brasil”.
